Forest roads, two-tracks and OHV trails on top of BLM and national forest boundaries, downloaded a state at a time. Built for the kind of trip where the signal ends an hour before the pavement does.
Why an off-road map has to work offline
Overland days are measured in hundreds of miles, and most of them are out of coverage. Downloading a square around a trailhead does not help; downloading the state does. Packs have no size cap and never expire, so the whole trip — and the bail-out routes you hope not to need — fit on the phone before you leave.
Selecting Off-road narrows the trail layer to tracks and switches on BLM recreation sites along with BLM and national forest land, which is where most legal dirt is. The cell-coverage layer is worth more here than anywhere: it shows the nearest place each carrier works, which is the first thing you want to know when something breaks.
The map shows that a road exists, not that it is open to your vehicle. Motorized access is set by the managing agency’s travel plan and changes seasonally — check the district’s current motor vehicle use map.

- Can I really download a whole state?
- Yes — or the whole country. Packs are vector data, there is no download cap, and they never expire.
- Does it show which roads are open to vehicles?
- No. It shows roads and trails and who manages the land. Legal motorized routes are defined by each forest or BLM district’s travel plan.
- Does it work in a vehicle mount?
- Yes. The app has a drive mode for following your position on the move, and recording keeps running in the background.
